Our Brands

Mersea’s work also takes physical form through two brands under the house: Le Puffer – transforming invasive pufferfish into exotic, long-lasting leather accessories that support ecosystem balance – and Maison Turkuaz, a collector house of hand-picked, one-of-a-kind turquoise jewelry.

Le Puffer

A regenerative design initiative transforming the invasive silver-cheeked toadfish (Lagocephalus sceleratus) into high-quality eco-leather. By creating commercial value from an ecological threat, Le Puffer exemplifies the circular blue economy—where restoration and design move together.

Before Le Puffer began, extensive research was conducted into the biology, ecology, diet, and toxicity of the species. This scientific foundation informs every stage of material development, ensuring that transformation from invasive species to luxury leather is both safe and ecologically grounded.

From sea to street, invasive never looked this good.

Our leather has surpassed EU standards in durability, stretch, and long-term performance, proving that sustainability does not require compromise. Each material is developed through a fully controlled process—from supporting small-scale fishers in the targeted removal of this harmful species, to precision tanning across a spectrum of over 20 colors, to final construction in our design studio.

Every piece is hand-sewn using reinforced double stitching for maximum strength and longevity, finished with premium-grade hardware selected for endurance and refinement. No plastics. No synthetics. Only natural materials, chosen intentionally as part of a healthier way of living and consuming.

Beyond craftsmanship, each product carries a deeper function: restoring balance to marine ecosystems while creating tangible economic value for coastal communities. What was once a threat becomes a resource—reframed through design, science, and purpose.

Our products wear in, not out—evolving with time, carrying both story and impact.

Maison Turkuaz

The house began with an obsession – an uncompromising pursuit of exceptional turquoise, collected at a level rarely seen. Maison Turkuaz is a collector house dedicated to rare, one-of-one pieces, each selected for its natural composition, intricate matrix, and energetic presence. Every stone is formed over millions of years and set in handcrafted 925 silver, allowing the material itself to lead and shine.

Within each stone, natural patterns emerge – forms, figures, and scenes shaped by geology itself. These are carefully interpreted, with each piece given a name and a distinct Charge: a three-part intention reflecting its character. While turquoise is long associated with calm and protection, many stones in this collection carry something more – subtle presences within the matrix, read as guides, symbols, or energies that offer direction, strength, or clarity to their keeper. The connection is immediate; the right piece is not chosen, it is recognized. The wearer steps into the energy they have been seeking – what you seek is already seeking you.

Each piece is treated as a natural artifact – an intersection of geology, history, and human interpretation – catalogued within an evolving archive. No two stones are alike, and each piece can exist only once.

Maison Turkuaz exists at the threshold of material and meaning. The name Turkuaz – the “Turkish stone” – traces its origins to the historic trade of turquoise through these lands. Today, the house is rooted along the Turkuaz Coast, where land, sea, and light converge. To us, turkuaz is not just a material – it is a destination.
